Show how you can get things done with Google Cloud Certifications

22 Jul 2022

Making things happen for your organisation's digital transformation requires that individuals and teams take time to advance their skills with training and Google Cloud Platform Certifications.

Completing a virtualisation project is more than “lifting and shifting” the old IT infrastructure to the cloud. Many take this approach for cost savings and convenience, and this makes sense.

But true transformation spans the entire business and enables every person to transform - from information technology specialists to end users. Today's landscape requires continuous improvement and innovation. This is where equipping yourself and your staff with the right skills, knowledge and certifications comes in.

Why should you get a Google Cloud Certification?

A 2020 Survey by Gallup found that Google Cloud certifications can help you boosted the required skills for various job roles within the cloud industry.

The study also found that among professionals surveyed:

  • 71% feel more confident in their professional future
  • 81% can prove cloud skill competency to recruiters
  • 77% feel their resume is more attractive
  • 85% feel more confident in their cloud skills

Also, once you become Google Cloud certified with Auldhouse, you unlock the following benefits:

Who is using Google Cloud Platform?

There are different cloud vendors to suit the needs of different organisations. We are proud to be partnered with and to offer training on the top 4 names in cloud computing including the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Groups in the public and private sectors who are working towards digitisation can look at their own specifications and identify which cloud vendor works best for them and set up their team for success with cloud computing courses and certifications.

Professionals in turn can look at the types of companies they work with and what platforms they use in order to determine whether getting Google Cloud Platform certifications would validate their ability to support these organisations.

2020 research by technology consultancy Contino shows the top 10 global companies that are on Google Cloud:

  1. Verizon: $79.9 million
  2. Twitch Interactive: $63.8 million
  3. CenturyLink: $61.8 million
  4. LinkedIn: $41.1 million
  5. NewsCorp: $40.9 million
  6. SAP: $40.1 million
  7. Facebook, Inc: $ 39.4 million
  8. Intel: $39.2 million

Understanding Google Cloud Certifications

Google currently offers three levels of cloud certification: associate, professional, and user.

Those new to the GCP are recommended to start their journey by pursuing an associate-level certification. Individuals are also recommended to have at least six months’ worth of experience building on Google Cloud.

For those pursuing the Professional certifications, it is recommended that you have at least three years of existing industry experience and at least one year of experience with Google Cloud products is encouraged.

Those keen on equipping themselves with the end user skills to use Google Suite’s core collaboration tools and features can go for user-level certifications.

Google Certified Associate - Cloud Engineer

Gain credentials in using Google Cloud Console and the command-line interface to perform common platform-based tasks to maintain one or more deployed solutions that leverage Google-managed or self-managed services on Google Cloud.

Google Certified Professional Data Engineer

Demonstrate your ability to enable data-driven decision making by collecting, transforming, and publishing data. Highlight your expertise in leveraging, deploying, and continuously training pre-existing machine learning models.
